
Casting Society of America Artios Award winning cating director Cindy Tolan is conduction an open casting call in Schenectady, NY for the feature film "How I Live Now". The open call is open to Caucasian girls between the ages of 14 and 19 for the lead role of Daisy in the film. The producers are hoping to find an unknown talent with no previous acting experience. This is a role that could easily launch an acting career. Shooting will take place in the United Kingdom starting in late Spring or early Summer 2012.
The story centers on of a 15-year-old girl from Manhattan named Daisy who goes to spend an idyllic summer in the English countryside with cousins she has never met. Young love blossoms. But a world war breaks out and the kids are suddenly not alright. They're thrust into the terrifying atmosphere of an occupying military force and Daisy becomes an unlikely heroine.
Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald will direct "How I Live Now" from an adapted screenplay written by Jeremy Brock and Tony Grisoni. Macdonald's directorial credits include Fox Searchlight Pictures' "The Last King of Scotland," Universal Pictures' "State of Play," Focus Features' "The Eagle," among numerous award winning documentaries. Tony Grisony is the writer of the "Red Riding Trilogy".
Alasdair Flind and Charles Steel are producing for London's Cowboy Films, the same company the produced "The Last King of Scotland" also directed by Kevin Macdonald. Andrew Ruhemann and Charles Steel will produce Passion Pictures. Ruheman won a 2011 Academy Award for Passion Pictures animated short film "The Lost Thing".
The open casting call will take place at the same Erie Boulevard location in Schenectady, NY where more than 2,000 hopefuls snaked around the block and waited for hours on June 4, 2011 during an open casting call for "A Place Beyond the Pines." That film, which hired more than 1,500 local people as extras, wrapped Saturday September 24th after 10 weeks of shooting in the city and across the Capital Region.

Teen girls who come to Sunday's casting call for "How I Live Now" will need to bring a photo or publicity shot, although acting experience is not a requirement. Each girl should also bring a resume with name, date of birth, address and contact information, including the names and contact information for parents or guardians of minors. Those who are cast will need a U.S. passport. The film is expected to be shot in England during late Spring or early Summer 2012. Some shooting may also be done in New York.

Story:
The story is about Henry Whipple (Dennis Quaid) an ambitious farmer with 3,700 acres and is a salesman for Liberty Seed Company. Whipple wants to expand his empire but gets caught up in the genetically modified foods debate with a company called AgriWarrior, and has a rivalry with Liberty Seeds top sales team of Jim Johnson and Sons. Zac Efron plays Dean Whipple, his rebellious son who would rather be a race car driver. Heather Graham plays Meredith Crown, who is having an affair with Henry behind his devoted wife's (Kim Dickens) back. Newcomer Maika Monroe will play Zac Efron’s girlfriend named Cadence Farrow.
